Sony has launched the AS-DT1, a compact, high-precision LiDAR depth sensor. Boasting a lightweight and miniaturized design, it measures just 29×29×31
mm (excluding protrusions) and weighs less than 50 grams. This sensor adopts “direct Time of Flight (dToF)” technology, paired with a
proprietary dToF ranging module and SPAD sensor, enabling high-precision 3D distance measurement. At a distance of 10 meters, the ranging error is less than ±5 cm both indoors and outdoors, with a distance resolution of 0.25 mm. It also overcomes the challenge of ranging for low-contrast objects, achieving a maximum measurement distance of 40 meters indoors and 20 meters outdoors under strong light. Its frame rate reaches up to 30 fps, horizontal field of view exceeds 30°, and laser wavelength is 940 nm. Featuring a compact, lightweight yet robust aluminum alloy housing, it can be
easily integrated into devices such as drones and robots. In scenarios including retail, warehousing, and infrastructure inspection, it provides reliable depth perception capabilities for equipment.
